Applegates takes first MOBIpeople

BASE Coach Sales has supplied Applegates Coaches of Berkeley, Gloucestershire, with its first MOBIpeople coach.

The new MOBIpeople Explorer is based on a Scania chassis and has 74 seats, a ZF automatic transmission and is to PSVAR specification.

Ceri Taylor, Managing Director at Applegates, said this latest fleet upgrade comes as Bristol and Bath are requiring EuroVI standards in their Clean Air Zones (CAZ). He told B&CB: “They have USB ports, cameras and everything you would expect from a new coach. The fact they have 74 seats is unique and the space inside is good.”

The new coach is to be used predominantly on school runs and school trips.

“BASE were very good; they delivered on time and did everything they said they would” – Ceri Taylor, Managing Director at Applegates

Ceri added: “BASE were very good; they delivered on time and did everything they said they would. It’s nice to deal with a family operation and the fact they operate their own vehicles means they understand the challenges we have.”
