Altas Auto founder succeeded by new CEO
Lithuanian-owned Altas Auto has a new CEO.
The manufacturer of small and medium-sized buses, distributed in the UK by EVM, has appointed Ignas Pranskevičius to the leadership role. He succeeds Edvardas Radzevičius, the company’s founder, who led the business for 23 years.
Radzevičius, now a member of the newly formed Altas Auto board, revealed that this transition had been planned for years. He emphasised that the company’s rapid growth created the ideal conditions for the change.
“Each year, our business grows by a third” – Edvardas Radzevičius, Altas Auto
Radzevičius said: “Each year, our business grows by a third. We have become a major enterprise with a team of 300 professionals and supply vehicles to 20 European countries. This year, we are scaling further: expanding operations, entering the maxi bus market, enhancing direct sales capabilities, and broadening our aftersales service network. These developments demand advanced management expertise, making this the perfect time to bring in a professional in the field.”
Altas Auto currently produces 14 bus models for urban, intercity, tourism, and specialised needs, offering Europe’s largest selection of electric mini and midi buses. Annually, the company manufactures over 700 buses.
“This transition comes as the company prepares for another growth surge” – Ignas Pranskevičius, Altas Auto’s new CEO
Pranskevičius said: “This transition comes as the company prepares for another growth surge, requiring immense focus. However, I am reassured by the strong and sustainable foundation we are building upon.”
Before joining Altas Auto, Pranskevičius spent five years as Executive Director and Board Member of the PRO BRO Group, where he and his team transformed the Lithuanian company into an international corporation and Europe’s fastest-growing car wash network.
Last year, Altas Auto unveiled the Altas Novus City V7, a compact electric bus tailored for European markets. At 7.5m long, it accommodates up to 35 passengers and is advertised with a range of up to 309km.
