Albion reports best year ever
Inbound tour operator, Albion, reports that it is experiencing its best year ever, with sales currently 57% up on pre-pandemic levels. Offering UK escorted tours predominantly to the US market, the operator attributes much of the growth to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which is driving demand to visit the UK this year.
Albion is one of The JG Travel Group brands, specialising in escorted heritage tours of Great Britain and Ireland by coach.
The operator reports that its best-selling tour is the ten-day ‘Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee & Royal Palaces’ itinerary which includes visits to many of England’s royal residences, such as Buckingham Palace.
“It is so encouraging to see our US guests travelling again and they are clearly desperate to get back to exploring the UK” – Matthew Herbert, commercial director at Albion
Matthew Herbert, commercial director at Albion, said: “It is so encouraging to see our US guests travelling again and they are clearly desperate to get back to exploring the UK. We are so pleased to be able to bring overseas guests into our key destinations and attractions and showcase all that our incredible country offers.
“We have a whole range of tours with royal themes and these have sold really well this year, I believe driven by the desire by many to visit the UK during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year. We keep our group sizes small and our tours around the UK are by coach, ensuring everything is organised from start to finish.”
