Abellio London achieves ‘gold standard’

Abellio London has achieved ‘gold standard’ ISO 45001 accreditation across its six London depots.

This internationally recognised standard, awarded by the British Standards Institution, is the global benchmark for occupational health and safety. The ISO 45001 framework also supports the United Nations sustainable development goals. Abellio’s teams have worked closely together to attain this status, with the process taking less than a year, which is considered an outstanding achievement.

Bobbie Enright, Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance Manager, Abellio London managed the project starting with a detailed discovery phase to understand processes across all depots. As a result of this detailed analysis, key tasks at depots were identified and then actioned to bring the occupational health framework and delivery into a single standard approach across the business.

Ken Fennell, Head of Facilities, Abellio London, said: “Attaining ISO 45001 accreditation across our London depots is a major achievement. This was only possible due to the professional dedication that our teams have toward occupational health and sustainability.”

Jon Eardley, Managing Director, Abellio London, said: “We value our people; ensuring that occupational health standards meet the international ‘gold standard’ for our teams with the ISO 45001 accreditation is something we are very proud of as a business.”
