Abellio extends ‘Oyster Match’
Abellio Surrey has extended the use of its ‘Oyster Match’ ticket. Now its passengers between Kingston and Esher can use it. It is already proving highly popular with users of the operator’s 458 and 459 services. Statistics show that over the same weeks this year compared to 2014 Oyster Match tickets nearly trebled on the 458 service and almost quadrupled on the 459. Passengers with an oyster card can show the card to the driver to be eligible for the discount and pay the driver £1.50, which means that travel is the same price as Oyster customers of TfL pay.
Commercial Manager, Alastair Willis, said, ‘Abellio Surrey’s 458, 459 and 515 run parallel to TfL routes and with our Oyster Match ticket customers pay the same fare as using their oyster card. At the same time they enjoy an even quicker journey on the 458 and 459 which provide a more direct service. They also provide a combined half hourly service between Kingston and Esher throughout the day from Monday to Saturday.’
