£8m Optare partnership continued

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has announced it is to continue its partnership with Optare to provide repair and maintenance services for 104 hybrid and electric buses. The seven year deal, worth £8m, was awarded to the manufacturer following a competitive tendering process. TfGM’s fleet includes hybrid Solos and Versas, 12m hybrid Versa school buses and 9.7m electric Versas.

Head of Bus at TfGM, Howard Hartley, said, ‘We’ve been happy with the performance and reliability of our buses, and the support we have received from Optare. Optare has the specialist knowledge required to deliver the best service for hybrid and electric buses.’

President of Optare Group, Graham Belgum, said, ‘We are delighted that TfGM has renewed our contract and we look forward to continuing our long standing relationship. This ongoing commitment to Optare is a great testament to the quality and reliability of our services.’
