The vehicles will provide passengers with free on board USB charging points, free Wi-Fi and leather seats. Stagecoach in Chesterfield is part of Stagecoach Yorkshire which employs 1,177 staff and operates a fleet of 419 buses carrying 46.5m passengers 19.2m miles annually.

MD of Stagecoach Yorkshire, Matt Davies, said, ‘The 54 is a popular commuter route, which has seen significant growth in recent years, so we are delighted to be able to introduce these industry-leading buses on this service as part of our commitment to continued investment. Many passengers use the service to travel to and from work. Electronic devices such as mobiles and tablets are an ever increasingly important part of this commuter journey so we hope customers will benefit from the USB charging points, as well as free wifi and the comfort of high back, leather seats.’
