First Borders awarded for creativity

First Borders, part of the First Scotland East operating company, has received a Borders Business Award for creativity. The company’s X62 Tartan and the X95 Ridings network played a key part in the win, with their bespoke liveries noted by judges at the SBCC Business Excellence 2015 Awards. First Borders carries 2.7m passengers with a fleet of 55 buses that cover nearly 3m miles per year on 29 routes in the region.

MD of First Borders, Paul McGowan, said, ‘We’re working hard to improve our services and attract new customers and took a real creative approach to our branding through engagement with our stakeholders and local staff who understand the importance of the local festivals in the Borders. This approach has been hugely popular with our customers and we’re delighted to see more people travelling on these services than before. To be recognised by the local business community is really pleasing and credit really does have to go to our local team in the Borders who’ve worked very hard to make buses a better, easier choice for those travelling around the area.’
