TJ Walsh takes two Bluebirds

T J Walsh has taken delivery of two Bluebird Orion Plus low floor minibuses to expand capacity on its Ripponden route. Based on the Fiat Ducato, they each feature coach backs, ramp access to the front, a wheelchair area and a flat floor throughout, as well as a 19inch digital display. They are powered by 3.0litre Euro5 engines matched to six-speed Comfort-Matic automated transmissions.

Owner of T J Walsh, Neil Walsh, said, ‘Back in May 2013 we tested a Bluebird Orion Plus on our steep, rural routes and were thrilled with its performance. We achieved around 24mpg, which is phenomenal given the terrain and a big improvement on the other vehicles in our fleet. Our passengers enjoyed the Orion’s open and airy feel and found it very easy to get on and off.’
