megabus welcomes Elite i coaches

Stagecoach-owned megabus.com has welcomed nine new Plaxton Elite i coaches to its fleet following an investment of almost £3m. The vehicles will be based from the operator’s Cwmbran, South Wales, site and they each feature 74 seats, free wifi, a toilet and USB charging points. The coaches will replace the existing fleet based at Cwmbran and will be used on routes travelling across Wales, the west of England and London. As part of celebrations to launch the new coaches into service, megabus.com is launching a competition on social media to name the new vehicles.

Operations Director for megabus.com, Tony Simmons, said: “We’re delighted to be introducing these bright new vehicles into service. They will help to bring quality and reliability to our millions of passengers every year. Not only are the new additions a great comfortable transport option but they help to ensure that we are operating a fleet that is environmentally sustainable and safe. These new vehicles will offer the best possible service and value for money for our passengers, who can sit back and relax during their journey. We continuously strive to update and upgrade our fleet so that customers can benefit from the very best, spacious and modern vehicles available and it will be great to see these new coaches travelling between Wales, the West of England and London.”
