Yorkshire/Lancashire linked for ‘Day Trippers’

Transdev has launched a new ‘Day Tripper’ ticket between Lancashire and Yorkshire. It allows shoppers to travel from Preston to Leeds and back for just £9. For groups of five there is a Day Tripper group ticket, priced at £19. The Day Tripper ticket priced at £9 for an adult and £6 for children includes travel as far east as York on Coastliner, but doesn’t include onward long distance travel to Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington. To reach these areas, a Day Tripper plus ticket, priced at £15 for an adult and £10 for a child, includes full access to the coast on Coastliner, as well as including the open-top York City Sightseeing bus.

Chief Executive at Transdev, Alex Hornby, said, ‘We are told that people love the idea of integrated travel and the simple concept of paying once to travel all day, without limits. The new Day Tripper collection joins up our network across the major towns and cities we serve meaning so many more travel opportunities to a great range of destinations. The group ticket represents huge savings for groups of friends, shoppers and sightseers and presents the perfect opportunity for our customers to visit parts of both counties they might not have been to before.’
