Wrightbus announces Electrocity range

Wrightbus has announced the development of its ‘Electrocity’ range, which features a number of product choices formulated to save fuel, money and the environment. Specific projects now in product development include the StreetLite and StreetDeck in ‘Electrocity’ format. Both have integral chassis platforms that have been designed to have the potential to be powered by hybrid or pure electric systems, as well as conventional diesel in combination with Micro Hybrid technology.

Wrightbus’ ‘Electrocity’ offerings can be deployed on single deck product platforms and comprise a choice of three interoperable ‘green’ technology programmes, namely: Induction Power Transfer (IPT), Conduction charging via Pantograph (Rapid Charge) and Hybrid Power with EV mode and range extender (for overnight charge). Double deck product platforms are available with two options: IPT and Rapid Charge. The manufacturer’s dedicated alternative driveline business unit can offer advice and support, ensuring solutions can be tailored for each customer’s specific operation.
