VDL assures continuity for Scotland and Northern Ireland

VDL has ensured its customers of continued service in Scotland and Northern Ireland following the closure of Moseley Distributors Ltd (MDL) earlier this year.

A statement from VDL said: “After years of cooperation, Jim Tweedie has recently announced that he will stop running MDL’s business operations and thus the exclusive representation of VDL for Scotland and Northern Ireland. VDL looks back on a good collaboration and is very grateful to Jim Tweedie and the MDL team for their support and dedication.

“In mid-2020, VDL established its sales and service organization in Barnsley. VDL Bus & Coach UK is formed by committed professionals who advise and assist the Bus & Coach operators.”

VDL is assuring customers of continuity in Scotland, with the appointment of Nick Armstrong as sales manager for coaches. Nick has an automotive background and has been responsible for Moseley Distributor’s commercial activities in Scotland for vehicles and parts since 2017. The service support and parts supply is coordinated centrally by VDL Bus & Coach UK. Operational support is guaranteed in close cooperation with a network of service partners.

A structural solution is still being sought for the representation for the Northern Irish operators. Until then, support will take place from VDL Bus & Coach UK in Barnsley.
