Tesco cancels selected free buses

Supermarket Tesco has made the decision to stop providing some free bus services to its stores.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “We have made the difficult decision to stop the provision of the bus service to and from selected stores as they have been under-used for some years. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this causes and we’re working to ensure that any passengers are aware of alternative routes and we’ll try to support those who are elderly and vulnerable in the community with online deliveries.”

An operator affected by this decision is Worthing-based Compass Travel. The company is no longer providing its X2, X3 and X5 services as a result.

Carmarthen-based Morris Travel ended its free bus to Tesco on 11 September.
