Stuart Jones recognised at Coach Awards

Bus and Coach Buyer’s Editor in Chief, Stuart Jones, has received the Services to the Coach Industry award at the UK Coach Awards 2017. Stuart has worked in the bus and coach trade press for over 30 years, beginning his career in this area at Coachmart magazine. In 1989, he founded and edited his own publication, which you are reading now. As well as his work as a writer, photographer and editor, Stuart has been a champion of quality and good practice throughout his career in a whole variety of ways. He has been a judge at the British Coach Rally since the mid-1980s and helped to found the UK Bus Awards in 1995, as well as serving on the Management Committee for over ten years. He was also Chairman of the International Bus & Coach of the Year Jury. Judges said that ‘trade press in our industry perform a vital role and Stuart’s hard work, advocacy and passion for the industry shine through, and were a just cause for celebration’.

Stuart commented, ‘After my initial feeling of disbelief I couldn’t be more thrilled to receive this award.’

Chosen as the Top UK Coach Operator of the Year was Maynes Coaches of Buckie, winner of the Top Medium Fleet Operator accolade. Anthony’s Travel took the Top Small Fleet Operator award with the Top Large Fleet Operator title going to The Kings Ferry.
