Rural bus replaced with taxi

A rural bus service in Denbighshire has been withdrawn, with former passengers given the alternative of phoning for a replacement taxi instead. The route serves Nantglyn, Prion and Saron and was supported financially by Denbighshire County Council. According to the Council, patronage on the service has fallen significantly and a taxi option is now cheaper and more flexible. The new arrangement is now available on Mondays to Fridays and the fare is the same as the bus. It will depart Nantglyn, Saron, Prion and now Peniel at 09.15 and return from Denbigh at 12.30. Passengers must now phone the operator, Vale Taxis, by 17.00 the day before travel. Those with a Cerdyn Cymru pass will be able to travel free of charge. Bus journeys at school times, however, are not affected and passengers may continue to board these journeys as usual.
