Red Arrow goes 24-hours

trentbarton’s red arrow coach service is to start operating on a 24-hour basis from 2 September.

red arrow was launched in 1995, following market research into what would encourage more people to travel between Nottingham and Derby. It was found customers were after speed and luxury, without the hassle of parking in the cities. Over the years, the operator has striven to evolve the service to meet customer demand; increasing the frequency, extending the timetable and investing in coaches. In 2015, it invested £3m to introduce nine Plaxton Elite Volvos. The coaches feature wifi, reclining seats, air conditioning, tables and USB sockets.

The service already runs late into the night. Since 2004, red arrow has been operating until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights. According to the operator, these later runs have been popular. It is expected the 24/7 service is to benefit nightlife revellers and night-shift workers, such as those at the nearby Queens Medical Centre.
