Prentice captures Leopard

Prentice Coaches of Haddington has taken delivery of the first Plaxton Leopard to have left the factory. The coach is based on a Volvo B9R chassis powered by a 380bhp D9B Euro5 engine driving through I-Shift automated transmission. The new model was unveiled at Coach & Bus Live 2013, marking the coach manufacturer’s re-entry to the market for a high quality coach with a lower price tag than the Panther and Elite range. The Prentice vehicle has 59 Brusa seats and is the fourth vehicle from ADL/Plaxton this year, having already taken a 29 seat Cheetah and two Enviro200s.
Ross Prentice from Prentice Coaches said, ‘The lower height, the high seating capacity and the inswing door are all features that appealed to us. The design is bang up to date and the specification is ideal for much of the more local work we do where our customers do not need the features of our top-specification coaches like the Panther. We have had good service from Plaxton over many years and that is reflected in the fact that all of our coaches, apart from two 24-seaters, are Plaxtons.’
