NCT finalist in European awards

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) has been named as one of the finalists and Ruban d’Honneur recipient in the 2014/5 European Business Awards. Selected as one of ten finalists in the award for Customer Focus, the company will now go on to compete in the third and final round of judging resulting in 11 overall category winners to be announced later this year. Running alongside the competition’s internal judging process is a public vote which will decide the ‘Public Champions’ of the competition. The competition’s website (www.businessawardseurope.com) can be used to vote. The National winners of the public vote will be announced on 3 March 2015.

CEO of The European Business Awards, Adrian Tripp, said, ‘As one of our Ruban d’Honneur recipients, NCT is an exemplary example of innovation, ethics and financial success, and I am sure they will inspire other businesses in Europe. We wish them well in this last, but crucial, selection stage and look forward to announcing the overall category winners at our Gala Event.’

NCT launches two new services

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) has introduced two new services aimed at helping workers based on two of the city’s busiest industrial estates. Buses will run from the city to the Colwick Industrial Estate and Electric Avenue Industrial Area, with morning buses arriving before 09.00 and return journeys in the afternoon peak (approximately 16.00 to 18.30) to the city on Mondays to Fridays. Existing stops on Electric Avenue, Tottle Road and through Colwick Industrial Estate will be served by the new 44A and 48A. In addition, Red 44 buses from Gedling and Netherfield will arrive into the City earlier on weekday mornings, arriving just before 05.30 and 06.00, which improves connections with other NCT services. These services are introduced ahead of ticketing changes which affect the City Council’s Link Bus network from 1 March 2015.

Clifton Connect

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) has launched Clifton Connect, a new ticket being introduced during the closure of Green Lane in Clifton, near Nottingham. It means customers will not have to pay any more for their journey due to the disruption caused by the closure. All journeys within Clifton on Navy 1, 2, 3, 4, 48, 48A and Grey 53 will cost just £1.10, even if customers have to catch more than one bus. A £2 Clifton Connect ticket can be used to complete longer journeys at no extra cost. On Friday afternoon, NCT will be attending a meeting with Nottingham City Council, the tram contractor and A453 contractor to discuss options to minimise the impact of the works.
