New electric bus to be available in UK

BEV variant to be offered at similar price as diesel equivalent, says Quantron

E-mobility specialist, Quantron AG, is to launch the electric QUANTRON 12m low-floor bus at the end of 2021.

The vehicle is to come in right-hand drive format and be available in the UK.

The city bus will be offered in two versions: BEV (battery electric vehicle) and FCEV (fuel cell electric vehicle).

In the BEV variant, the vehicle can be ordered in the UK as early as the end of 2021, or as an FCEV from spring 2022. According to Quantron, the BEV variant is to be priced in a similar price range to conventional diesel buses.
Quantron says the bus achieves a maximum output of 250kW, with a range of up to 280km. The charging power is up to 80kW with a battery capacity of up to 422kWh. The battery is charged via a European standard plug CCS 2 within three to six hours depending on the battery size. The battery system is adapted to the respective operational requirements and is compatible with various charging solutions. The bus has a capacity for up to 95 passengers. The interior and exterior design are available in a range of specifications and styles.
