Mellor unveils new Strata

Mellor is unveiling its new Strata minibus.

First launched in 2016, the model features a redesigned passenger area with a single step up from the low floor section (reduced from two step) to minimise trip hazards and enhance passenger safety. This change also increases the headroom by 100mm, improving overall accessibility and comfort. Additionally, the low-floor area has been extended by 266mm, allowing for four extra seats in this section. With up to 12 seats now available in the low-floor area, and space for up to two wheelchairs, passengers with reduced mobility should be able to benefit from easier movement and greater seating options.

The repositioned emergency door allows for an extra seat in the rear row for the Plus and Ultra variants.

Built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform, these vehicles come equipped with a full suite of GSR2-compliant driver assistance systems, including Attention Assist, Intelligent Speed Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Active Brake Assist.

Inside, the Class 1 variants feature dual tip-up seat areas, providing four dedicated priority seats while preserving a spacious, open interior design. Fully PSVAR-compliant, these buses integrate passenger information systems and accessibility enhancements.

With a 2.3m width and lightweight construction, the new Strata is designed with rural and suburban routes in mind, where larger buses may face operational challenges. Also aiding this is its 17m turning circle.

As a certified Low-Emission Bus (LEB), the Strata is eligible for government rebates such as BSOG.
