Mellor appoints former-ADL man to sell Sigma range

Mellor has recruited renowned industry sales executive, Richard Matthews, as Head of Sigma Sales.

Matthews joins Mellor after a highly successful sales role with Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL), which saw him deliver year-on-year growth over the last decade. His CV also includes a previous General Sales Manager role with ADL and a senior Parts Directorship with Optare.

Mellor’s new, electric, purpose-built Sigma line-up includes six models, ‘city’ and ‘rural’ specifications, and numerous width and passenger door configurations.

Richard Matthews said: “I’m extremely excited to be taking on this new challenge, Sigma represents a refreshing new take on how bus operators deliver eMobility solutions for their communities. Sigma is designed and built as a dedicated EV – from the ground up – which means efficiencies, such as lightweight construction and the integration of best-in-class components from leading manufacturers, are built in.
