McGill’s profit more than doubles
McGill’s Buses’ profit has more than doubled.
In its latest set of financial results published on Companies House, the Greenock-based company’s profit increased from £0.72m last year to £1.88m in 2025. Its turnover rose from £57.6m to £91.2m.
Behind the rise is the acquisitions of First operations, which has increased operations, fleet size and head count. It took over First Scotland East in 2022.
McGill’s says business is still being impacted by a slower than expected recovery from the financial impacts of Covid-19, while passenger numbers continued to be affected by changing travel patterns.
