Maynes hopeful of support

Kevin Mayne of Maynes Coaches has told The Press and Journal he is hopeful a rescue package will become available from the government based on the coach industry’s investments in low emission vehicles.

Support for the sector has so far been ruled out. However, the story reports Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, said she would listen to sectors’ cases before agreeing to or ruling out support. Kevin Mayne believes the industry’s green credentials may help gain support, saying coaches are helping the government meet its emission targets.
