London Transport Museum’s Chair honoured with OBE

London Transport Museum’s Chair, Keith Ludeman, has been awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to transport.

Keith became Chair of the Museum in 2017 after joining its Board in 2014. He brought with him an extensive career in the UK transport sector – from London General and Go-Ahead to Eversholt Rail Group, Luton Airport and High Speed 1.

Working with the Museum teams, Keith has guided, supported, and championed the Museum’s ambition to inspire young people to see the role they can play in shaping the future. Since then, London Transport Museum has welcomed more than 154,000 school students and teachers to its Museum in Covent Garden and Depot in Acton to learn about the capital’s transport history and imagine what the London of tomorrow could look like. 103 young people have also been supported into apprenticeships and jobs in both the transport and cultural sectors through the Museum’s dedicated and industry-backed employability skills programmes Enjoyment to Employment and Creative Careers.

‘Brilliant work’

Keith Ludeman OBE said: “Chairs lead their boards and provide support and inspiration to their CEO and Management Teams. This Honour thus recognises the brilliant work of the senior leadership team at London Transport Museum, all of our staff and volunteers, and my dedicated and hard-working Board of Trustees – without whom we could not have achieved the stellar progress the Museum has made over the past decade.”

“Keith has been a dedicated and driving force behind the Museum’s work over the last two decades” – Elizabeth McKay, Director and CEO of London Transport Museum

Elizabeth McKay, Director and CEO of London Transport Museum, said: “Keith has been a dedicated and driving force behind the Museum’s work over the last two decades, both as a Board member and as our Chair. Thank you, Keith!”
