Latest from Ticketer on display at Transport Ticketing Global

Ticketer will be exhibiting and speaking at this year’s Transport Ticketing Global event on 7 to 8 March at Olympia, London.

The transport ticketing specialist is to display its latest on-bus technology and new data insights platform.

Andreea Reardon, Group Chief Product & Technology Officer and Richard Blackburn-Hughes, Head of Commercial, have also been invited to speak at the two-day conference. They will be discussing the trends and future for Account Based Ticketing (ABT), as well as sharing how operators and local authorities can unlock the value of data.

“We’re seeing an increased take up in the adoption of Account Based Ticketing solutions, both by public transport operators and authorities” – Andreea Reardon, Group Chief Product & Technology Officer

Andreea comments: “We’re seeing an increased take up in the adoption of Account Based Ticketing solutions, both by public transport operators and authorities. Especially in the context of the lockdown, which changed travel patterns and behaviours. Passengers are now more inclined to have flexibility in their travel, and the traditional one-day tickets and season tickets are not necessarily as popular as they used to be pre-pandemic as less people commute daily. As a consequence, travel and payment methods have had to adapt. ABT has resolved that flexibility issue. It allows operators to take away the hassle of identifying a ticket for travel from the passenger, to make travelling simpler. Fares are calculated in the back-end to give passengers the best value for their travel. I’m certain, we’ll see more and more ABT schemes being rolled out in the future.”

To hear more from Andreea, delegates at TTG will find Andreea in a panel discussion on ‘What makes a Successful ABT Implementation’ on Tuesday 7 March, 3pm, Theatre 1.

Richard will be talking through some of the ways data can help operators overcome many of the challenges they face. Covering everything from how driver performance can be monitored, through to identifying fraud, there will be practical hints and tips on how data can open up operational benefits.

“When enriched visualisations of data are available, operators can get quick and easy access to these vital data insights” – Richard Blackburn-Hughes, Head of Commercial

Richard said: “Operators have the ability to use any of the ticketing and passenger data which is collected. It’s all useful. It’s all available. It’s just finding a way to drill down into what’s there – that’s the challenge. Everything is available from driver performance through to revenue, from passenger boarding points through to vehicle occupancy and beyond. When enriched visualisations of data are available, operators can get quick and easy access to these vital data insights.”

To hear more from Richard, delegates at TTG will find Richard presenting ‘Insights to improve Public Transport Operations’ on Wednesday 8 March, 10am, Theatre 2.
