King Alfred running day returns
Almost 4,000 tickets for vintage bus services were sold when the Friends of King Alfred Buses’ (FoKAB’s) annual Running Day returned to the streets of Winchester.
The event was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
The returning Running Day was part of the Winchester Heritage Open Days (HODs) series of events.
For 40 years FoKAB has been collecting buses from the fleet and restoring them to original specification. King Alfred buses have been rescued from as far away as Augusta, Georgia, USA and County Wicklow in Ireland.
FoKAB hopes to return the event to its usual date next year, namely Bank Holiday Monday 2 May 2022.
