IN PICTURES: Electric bus test in Bonn

Bus and Coach Buyer recently had the opportunity to join the Omnibus Spiegel team in Germany to evaluate a range of electric buses. For the seventh annual event staged by the publication, the focus returned to 12m city buses, these making up half of the vehicle contingent test ridden by David Cole who teamed up with Danish journalist and highly experienced driver Rolf Brems for three days in the city of Bonn.

Vehicles taking part in the test were from Iveco, Solaris, Scania, VDL, Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) and Hess plus the latest Sprinter-based concept vehicle from Tremonia.

The event’s overall programme encompasses manufacturers presentations, workshop checks and a road test of each vehicle by every participant.

The full report on all the vehicles that were involved and how they fared in the test appear in the 4 April (1700) edition of Bus and Coach Buyer, available to view online here. But click the images above to see the full gallery in all its glory.
