IN PICTURES: Anthony’s Travel raises £1,215 for charity at 40th celebration

Anthony’s Travel raised £1,215 for Cardiomyopathy UK at its 40th anniversary celebrations.

The operator also awarded grants of £400 to community partners Night Stop North West and Victoria Music, as well as a complimentary coach trip for Eat at the Heath, Runcorn.

The event, held at DCBL Stadium, Widnes, celebrated the operator’s 40 years of trading (see B&CB 1701, 18 April 2025, for our feature on the company’s anniversary).

The operator was founded in 1985 by Tony Bamber, father of current Managing Partner, Richard Bamber, who owns the business along fellow partners Anne Bamber and Dawn Bamber. Alongside the Bamber family, celebrating guests had travelled from all over England, Scotland and Wales to the occasion alongside community leaders and local charities who are part of Anthony’s Travel’s community ethos.

All guests were given a celebration commemorative coin and specially produced chocolate bar.

Hosted by Aky Karim, the night saw Richard Bamber welcome guests with a light-hearted look back over the foundation of the company. Other speakers included Rob Littler of Victoria Music, a charity that has partnered with Anthony’s Travel since its inception. Rob spoke about how the operator is far more than a business but is guided by the principal of helping others and supporting local good causes.

Racheal Owens, CEO of Halton Chamber of Commerce spoke about how coach operators are integral to the communities they serve and how Anthony’s Travel has proved that small businesses can make big differences and have unparalleled local knowledge.

The final speech of the evening was by Laura Hadzik, Partner of JMW Solicitors and long-term friend of the Bamber family who mentioned how Anthony’s Travel support many in the coach industry and were a key part of the foundation of RHA Coaches.

Entertainment was provided by AJ Discos, singer Martin Murphy and magician Robbie Danson.
