FlixBus extends UK network

German coach operator, FlixBus, has extended its UK operations after only having entered the country in March. Brussels, Leuven and Antwerp in Belgium, German cities like Frankfurt, Bonn, Dortmund, Nuremberg and Düsseldorf and Czech capital Prague are now directly connected to the English capital. No transfers are required for these services. The first FlixBuses to London have proved popular, being fully booked. Besides buying a ticket at various travel agencies or at FlixBus’ ticket shops, customers can also get a free mobile app and check-in digitally with a QR code. The former start-up is continuing to build on this platform with ticket cancellations and re-bookings free of charge up to 15 minutes before departure. The app also offers current route information and a navigation tool to find their point of departure.

FlixBus’ spokesperson, Bettina Engert, said, ‘Although travelling by coach has been popular for a long time, we want to freshen it up a bit and look at it from a different point of view. Given the modern customers’ need for a fast flow of content, it’s essential for us to provide information about our new routes as timely as possible and ensure all relevant details are easily found by the customer. We’re bringing everything to our passenger’s fingertips. We realise that travelling isn’t just about getting from A to B. Our priorities are based on our ability to provide a set of premium services to contemporary customers. They can assess the various offers on the market and choose the one that best satisfies their needs.’
