Fleet upgrade for Cardiff Bus

Cardiff Bus has added twenty new buses to its fleet, completing a three year, £3.5M investment strategy. Ten Mercedes-Benz Citaro single decks and ten ADL Enviro400 double decks will be used across the operator’s network covering Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan with a link to Newport.

The Euro6 engined vehicles are fully accessible and feature CCTV, comfortable seating, free 4G Wi-Fi, USB charging points and next stop announcement systems to assist the visually impaired.

MD at Cardiff Bus, Cynthia Ogbonna, commented, ‘We continuously look for ways to improve the service that we provide to our customers and this latest investment does exactly that. Investing in new buses demonstrates our commitment to providing a public transport network that rivals the best in the UK and is fitting for a dynamic European Capital City. This is a continuation of investment that has been happening over the last three years to improve the comfort, look and life of our current fleet. These new vehicles complement that investment in vehicle refurbishment which has been welcomed by customers.’
