Fishwick first to supply Daily START

New entry level vehicle in Daily range

David Fishwick has become the first supplier in the UK to take delivery of Iveco’s Daily START, the newest addition to the manufacturer’s minibus range. The Lancashire-based minibus and minicoach supplier has taken on one demonstrator vehicle.

The 6m-long Daily START is the new entry-level model in the range, which includes the Daily Line and high-end Daily Tourys+. Capable of seating up to 16 passengers and with the possibility of wheelchair access in certain configurations, the START has been fitted with a manual side-sliding door and retractable step. Its standard features can be enhanced with options including CCTV, an electric sliding door, reverse cameras and USB charging points.

Power is provided by IVECO’s 3.0-litre F1C diesel engine, with a choice of either 150hp or 180hp versions available. It can also be equipped with the eight-speed Hi-Matic automatic transmission, designed to provide maximum performance with low operating costs. Maintenance intervals have been extended to 50,000km.

Mark Barlow, Dealer Principal at David Fishwick, said: “This new Daily model offers excellent value for money, thanks to IVECO’s pedigree in the minibus and minicoach market, plus its 24/7 aftersales and maintenance support which is second to none. With this new vehicle on the market, operators can be confident of a long service life, even for high-mileage applications.”

Capital call for Bank of Dave

Minibus magnate Dave Fishwick is set to raise £2.5 million as he pushes forward in getting regulatory approval to launch the Bank of Dave.

The businessman, who made it to TV with his peer-to-peer lending group in Lancashire, is applying to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to turn his loans provider into a fully-fledged UK bank. Now, he has begun a crowd-funding initiative to move forwards.

Since launching in 2011, Burnley Savings and Loans – which is branded Bank on Dave – has lent nearly £20 million to more than 3,000 borrowers.

It is now turning to crowdfunding platform Seedrs in a bid to raise £2.5 million towards its expansion to become a full bank, which will be called Bank of Dave.
