Fishers fire

Fire broke out at Dundee based Fishers Tours’ depot on the night of 23 August 2015. It was reported at 23.03, with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sending two pumps and an Aerial Rescue Platform to the scene. A statement from SFRS said the depot warehouse was well alight, with 25% of the building involved. Acetylene cylinders were present at the building, which posed a risk of explosion. One main jet was used to get the conflagration under control, with the Aerial Rescue Platform used intermittently to dampen down the flames. A thermal imaging camera was deployed to check for ‘hot spots’. The incident closed at 09.02 the following day.

No cause was identified at the time of going to press. No one was harmed nor were any buses damaged. On contacting the operator, B&CB was told the company’s phone lines have been diverted away from the depot to a separate number. The representative from the company who answered was not permitted to answer any questions concerning the fire.
