First unveils Westcliff-on-Sea heritage livery

First Essex has unveiled a special anniversary vehicle to celebrate 100 years of Westcliff-on-Sea Motor Services. An ex-London Dennis Trident has been painted in the former operator’s cream and red livery with gold detailing. It will enter every day service on Monday, 19 May, serving customers in south Essex. The 825 preservation group carried out the work. A launch event for it was held at First’s Hadleigh depot alongside a 75 year old Westcliff Bristol bus. The event was especially poignant for Martin White, a member of the organisation, whose father and grandfather both worked for Westcliff-on-Sea motor services during the 1930s.
