Festival passengers nearly double for Reading

A record total of nearly 40,000 revelers from this year’s Reading Festival travelled on Reading Buses’ Festival shuttles. Figures show this was almost double the amount at last year’s event. Outgoing Reading Buses CEO, James Freeman, said, ‘Two innovations really helped us. The first was that buses had far better access to the festival site than previously and we also paid a lot more attention to providing a service for festival campers who wanted to travel into the town centre for shopping. Equally, thanks to the support provided by staff at Reading Station, delays were reduced for people arriving by train and wanting to complete their journey by bus to the festival.’
