David Urquhart winding up coach tours

David Urquhart Travel is planning to wind up its coach tour business.

According to a post on its website, the company plans to bring it to an end in an ‘orderly manner over the next few months’. The statement said the ongoing coronavirus crisis has especially impacted the travel and tourism sector. It said: ‘At present it is impossible to establish when coach tour and hotel operations will return to normal operating capacity.’

Directors lodged an application on 4 May 2020 to the Court of Session to enter into a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) for David Urquhart Travel Ltd.

The company assured customers that deposits and payments are held in a secure independent Trustee Account, which is managed by a separate professional Trustee Management Legal Company.

This is not a decision which has been taken lightly. The coach tour company has served loyal customers for more than 37 years throughout the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and Ireland and has been a prominent figure within the leisure and hospitality industry.

The decision does not affect David Urquhart Sky Travel Ltd, which provides foreign travel, cruises and city breaks. This company will continue as normal, according to the website statement, providing the highest level of service to its customers throughout the UK.
