City Circle takes 20 Scanias

City Circle (UK) has taken delivery of 20 new Scania coaches this year. This means its 54-coach line-up at its new purpose-built London-based operation is 100% Scania.

The order consisted of 18 13.2m Scania K 410 6×2*4 chassis and two 10.8m Scania K 360 4×2 chassis, both with Irizar i6S bodywork. They are all equipped with Scania’s fully automated Opticruise transmission system. The vehicles were ordered to replace existing vehicles in the fleet as part of a three-year rolling process.

The 13.2m models have 53 reclining passenger seats with leather and extra padded flaps, centre sunken toilet/washroom and Frenzel kitchen located at the centre continental exit. Additional features include reversing and road cameras and integrated satellite navigation. The two 10.8m Scania Irizar i6S vehicles have 36 reclining seats with half leather trim, rear floor-mounted toilet and washroom as well as a servery at the rear of the coach with built-in units for fridges and drinks, fitted by A&D Coach Systems. All 20 new vehicles have dark tinted glass and Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels as well as wifi, a CCTV system and USB charging points for all the passengers. The vehicles will be used for the company’s incoming tourism and corporate charter groups.
