Citaro converted into COVID-19 carrier

Daimler Buses has converted a Mercedes-Benz Citaro into a special vehicle for the transfer of COVID-19 patients. Converted at the manufacturer’s plant in Neu-Ulm, the bus is now the largest intensive care ambulance in Germany.

Special hygiene considerations have been made on the bus, including a disinfectant sprayer for use in the patient compartment once transportation is completed. The area for the driver is separated from the patient compartment by a wall and the ventilation system has been converted. As a result the driver has no contact with patients and should not be exposed to any infection.
