Cardiff Bus continues Ticketer partnership with fleetwide roll-out
Ticketer is continuing its long-standing partnership with Cardiff Bus. The operator has now completed the roll out of the Ticketer TK300 system across its whole fleet.
In addition to upgrading to the advanced TK300 ETMs, Cardiff Bus will benefit from Ticketer’s Road Restriction Alerts, with further feature enhancements set to launch later this year.
Featuring an intuitive Android-based driver console and new card reader, the TK300 is designed to deliver improved driver usability, faster transactions and full compatibility with a wide range of modern payment methods, including Amex.
“With the TK300, Cardiff Bus is now equipped with our fastest, most capable ticketing technology” – Adam Toone, Ticketer’s Chief Commercial and Operations Officer
“We’re delighted to be supporting Cardiff Bus as they upgrade their ETM estate to our latest TK300,” says Adam Toone, Ticketer’s Chief Commercial and Operations Officer. “It’s fantastic to see continued investment in modern, passenger-focused technology in the region. With the TK300, Cardiff Bus is now equipped with our fastest, most capable ticketing technology – future-proofing their services and enabling seamless travel for their community.”
“This has allowed us to keep our ticketing range modern and fresh” – Gareth Stevens, Commercial and Operations Director at Cardiff Bus
Gareth Stevens, Commercial and Operations Director at Cardiff Bus, said: “We are pleased to continue our long-standing partnership with the team at Ticketer, having started that journey in 2013. Working collaboratively in that time we have deployed some of the new initiatives as they have arisen, for example being early adopters of the EMV and QR capabilities.
“This has allowed us to keep our ticketing range modern and fresh – especially as we have seen several changes in recent years in our customers preferences for flexible ticketing options. The ability to continually reinvest in our business is one that we are proud of – and look forward to the benefits for staff and customers alike.”
Future enhancements
Ticketer is to launch a new voice messaging and broadcast solution later this year which will facilitate two-way communication between controllers and drivers, available only on the TK300 via its driver console, microphone and speakers.
Additionally, the TK300’s driver console is in development to be detachable in future, further leveraging the Android-tablet’s in-built camera and allowing more efficient vehicle walkaround checks to be logged digitally.
