Busy Bus acquired by Liverpool City Sights

Open-top bus tour operator Liverpool City Sights has acquired specialist out-of-city day tour provider, Busy Bus, in a deal that completes at the end of this month.

The takeover harvests the synergy of the two businesses enabling a one-stop shop for visitors to Liverpool and will retain both brands. Busy Bus’ city operations will move to a new base adjacent to Liverpool City Sights current depot while retaining its Mickle Trafford depot in Cheshire.

Busy Bus’ fleet of eleven 16-seat vehicles of Mercedes, Iveco and Ford manufacture will add to Liverpool City Sights existing 18 vehicles, mainly open-top double-deckers.  Liverpool City Sights was founded in 2015 by actor Philip Olivier, known for his role in the TV soap ‘Brookside’ who will be CEO of the combined business.

Peter Rosenfeld, founder of Busy Bus will remain a director and mentor but step back from an operational role after what he described as,

“a wonderful 22 years being part of part of the fantastic growth and reputation Busy Bus has achieved.” Speaking to Bus and Coach Buyer, he added, “Ensuring the Busy Bus brand is maintained has been critical to me as I take a step back and the acquisition by Liverpool City Sights recognises its strong digital footprint and brand value.”
