Book review – Duple: After the Dominant

Following his treatise on Duple and its long running Dominant product, Howard Berry turns his attention to the final years of Duple coach production including the Laser, looking much like an evolved Dominant and the squarer high specification Caribbean, both of which ran to .2 versions. The squarer styling continued to the 300 series and niche products such as the Calypso on a Bova underframe and the single Neoplan collaboration. Duple’s coach Swansong was the 425 integral with its low drag efficient and long-life stainless-steel framing. Production ended in 1989 but the final examples of the 425 were not registered until 1992 and some were still on the road over 30 years later when the book was compiled. Once again, there are 180 well prepared and captioned images taken across the lifetime of the various models. Highly recommended!

Duple: After the Dominant by Howard Berry is published by Amberley Publishing at £15.99. ISBN:978139812266
