Bob Dunn and Stephen Telling in top 100 influential people

Bob Dunn and Stephen Telling are among this year’s winners of the Top 100 Influential People awards.

The awards are designed to shine a spotlight on individuals in the UK who are excelling in their career. Winners this year include the likes of TV presenter Ben Fogle, news reader Natasha Kaplinsky OBE and footballer Beth Mead.

Chairman of the Rotala Group, Bob Dunn’s career spans 55 years and has seen him serve on numerous influential committees, including as a Director of the Greater Manchester Bus Operators Association and the Association of Local Bus Managers (ALBUM). In these roles, Bob has played a key part in shaping policy, raising industry standards and ensuring a strong voice for operators in public discourse.

A statement from the Top 100 most Influential awards said: “Bob Dunn’s legacy is one of resilience, vision, and service.

“His contributions have not only shaped businesses but have also improved the everyday lives of countless individuals—passengers, employees, and fellow professionals alike.

“As he continues to lead at Rotala Group Ltd, his impact will no doubt be felt for years to come, guiding the future of public transport in the UK with the same unwavering commitment that has defined his remarkable career.”

Stephen Telling has been a dynamic leader in the UK coach industry for nearly five decades. Most recently, has been responsible for transforming the UK Coach Operators Association (UKCOA) into a national trade body, from its former London-centric boundaries.

As founder and managing director of Tellings Golden Miller (TGM), Stephen led the company through growth, twice building fleets of over 500 vehicles, which he sold to National Express and Arriva.

Throughout his career, Stephen has worked with industry associations, including the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT), UKCOA and the Guild of British Coach Operators. During the pandemic, Stephen led the UKCOA in its advocacy for the coach sector, fostering resilience within the industry, helping operators adapt to a changing landscape by providing resources and support on crisis management and compliance.
