Arriva return to Luton Airport

Following a High Court case with Luton Airport that ruled in Arriva’s favour (see B&CB 1262, 7 February 2014), the operator has recommenced operating Green Line 757 between London Luton Airport and London Victoria. The Court granted the business a temporary injunction to restore the service. It is being operated by Arriva the Shires, which is responsible for the Green Line services from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. It sees the company’s buses return to the airport after a ten month absence. The service will operate seven days a week and will drop off and collect customers from right outside the terminal building. It will stop at some of the most convenient locations in London enabling customers to quickly access the London transport network, hotels and tourist attractions. The change to the service does not affect the current operation and all journeys aimed at commuters are still in place with three additional journeys added to the timetable.

Area MD, Paul Adcock, said, ‘We are absolutely delighted to re-launch the Green Line 757 service serving London Luton Airport. With over 30 years’ experience in providing first class coach travel between the airport and the capital this is a very welcome opportunity. This opportunity sees us being able to work with London Luton Airport Operations Ltd again and we look forward to supporting their aims for increasing passenger numbers. We are also able to continue to offer great value fares from just £10 single and £15 return with even better value offers for any staff who work at the airport and commute from London.’
