Anthony’s Travel is celebrating being crowned ‘Halton Family Business of the Year’ at the Halton Business Awards.

The awards event was held at the DCBL Stadium in Widnes and had over 500 attendees.

“To receive this award was the icing on the cake for our anniversary year” – Richard Bamber, Managing Partner of Anthony’s Travel

Richard Bamber, Managing Partner of Anthony’s Travel, said: “This year we celebrate 40 years of trading so to win this award is very special. As a family business with three generations active within the company we strongly believe that such businesses can make big differences within the community they serve, our community values have been a cornerstone of our company from the very beginning. To receive this award was the icing on the cake for our anniversary year.”

Anthony’s Travel was founded in 1985 by the late Tony Bamber and wife Anne who remains a partner of the company. Richard took over the day to day running of the business several years before Tony passed away in 2015. Richard’s wife Dawn is also a partner on the business and his son Oliver is also firmly part of the team.

Richard added: “It’s always been a priority that despite many changes and growth in the past four decades our business has retained its family values, we have a great team of passionate individuals and trusted advisors who share the same ethos, whilst receiving the award meant a lot personally, the win is not about me , but ‘we – as a team’.

“One of our mantras is ‘make a difference not an excuse’ and hopefully our actions have had recognisable benefits our customers, community and for the surrounding area.

“There are so many unheralded businesses within the Borough of Halton so to it was wonderful to celebrate not only our own success but importantly the success of others and hearing about the wonderful work of the apprentices, individuals and other amazing businesses with Halton and we would like to extend our congratulations to the many worthy winners and finalists.”
