Another year of growth for Arriva

Arriva has reported another year of growth in its latest financial results. For the 12 months ended 31 December 2015, the company achieved revenue of €4,834m (2014: €4,491m), a 7.8% rise. Its EBITDA rose 5.4% to €525m (2014: €498m). The operator continued its major investment into its UK Bus fleet, restructuring and re-focussing its management team. Significant acquisitions were made in Slovenia and Slovakia together with new contracts in Serbia and the Czech Republic, which Arriva claim further strengthens its position in eastern Europe. Its regional UK Bus was rated the joint highest national operator with a customer satisfaction rating of 89% and ranked highest for punctuality of services in Transport Focus’s latest passenger satisfaction report. Over 9,000 Arriva buses are now equipped with driver assistance systems and 2,000 with the Econospeed fuel saving system, developed by Arriva owned Zeta Automotive

Chief Executive of Arriva, Manfred Rudhart, said, ‘We delivered growth throughout 2015 and continued to invest back into the business.
