Alfa Coaches invests in ten Mercedes
As part of its ongoing investment, Alfa Coaches has taken delivery of ten new Mercedes-Benz Tourismos.
The new coaches are part of a fleet replacement programme, replacing 2011 and 2012 Tourismos owned from new. The latest arrivals mark a departure from the traditional buttermilk and blue colour scheme to more modern warm white Ivory paintwork and striking red upholstery with colour-coded E-leather headrests. The new vehicles have 49 seats and Active Brake Assist (ABA 4). They are powered by Mercedes-Benz OM 260 kW engines and are paired with eight-speed Powershift automatic transmissions. Alfa Coaches has made a commitment to achieving 100% Euro VI compliancy by 2021.
The investment is part of a wider strategy which has seen the recent addition of two new hotels in Bridlington and Torquay to the Leisureplex Hotel Group, which like Alfa Coaches is part of the Alfa Leisureplex business.
Lancashire-based Alfa Leisureplex Group is the only employee-owned travel company within the UK and has been catering for clients on coach holidays and hotel breaks for over 30 years. Within the group’s three subsidiaries is Alfa Coaches and its 48-vehicle fleet. Handling the operational side of its coach holiday packages is Alfa Travel, whilst Leisureplex Hotels offers a range of overnight stays at 21 superb locations, many with stunning views.
