ADL suspending production

ADL is suspending production at its UK manufacturing facilities due to the coronavirus outbreak. It is implementing an orderly idling of its manufacturing operations, but says it will be prepared for a quick and efficient restart at the appropriate time.

The company has said its aftermarket and service teams will continue to support customers in providing vital bus and coach services for essential workers. Its field service engineers remain on call and it is working closely with its suppliers to ensure spare parts are available as needed.

In an open letter, ADL Chief Executive, Colin Robertson said: “We recognise the huge effort made by all bus and coach operators to respond to this unprecedented challenge. Your schedulers, drivers, cleaners, engineers and other team members are going above and beyond every day, and we feel privileged to support them.

“Public transport, both bus and coach, is the spinal cord of every town and city, and we know that Alexander Dennis and Plaxton play an important part in providing the vehicles and support needed to keep essential workers moving.

“We will weather this uncharted territory together with our team members, our partners and with you, our customers, and hope you remain safe and healthy throughout this period.”
