Stephensons gets nine E200s

Eastern Transport Holdings has announced the addition of nine Alexander Dennis Enviro200 single-deckers to its Stephensons subsidiary.

The new buses include six 8.9m 30-seat variants and three 10.8m 40-seaters, representing an investment approaching £1.8m. The three largest vehicles are for new services 23A and 23B in the Southend area, operated in partnership with Southend City Council, while the remainder will replace older buses operating services across mid and west Essex.

“They represent the first new bus deliveries since the transition of our business to an Employee Ownership Trust in October last year” – Dean Robbie, Managing Director

Dean Robbie, Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome these smart, new buses to our fleet. They represent the first new bus deliveries since the transition of our business to an Employee Ownership Trust in October last year, and demonstrate our determination to continue investment which provides the best travelling experience for our customers and incorporates the latest accessibility features, whilst minimising emissions.”

Eastern Transport Holdings has been owned by an Empolyee Ownership Trust since October 2024. It operates around 135 buses through its Stephensons and NIBS buses brands, covering a significant network of routes across Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Alongside commercial and tendered local buses, the businesses operate home to school services and rail replacement, with a turnover of around £17m per annum.
