Go-Ahead to use Fourway depot for West Yorkshire expansion
Go-Ahead Group is to use its recently acquired Fourway Coaches depot to expand into West Yorkshire, it has confirmed to B&CB.
Three buses are to be run from the site on the service, which will operate under the banner of ‘Go-Ahead West Yorkshire’.
From 23 February 2025, Go-Ahead is to run the 571 route between Halifax, Brighouse and Shelf. A new timetable is to be introduced on the route, which is currently run by Arriva Yorkshire.
Go-Ahead acquired Fourway in May 2024, alongside the acquisition of Esk Valley, Procters and Compass Royston. The Fourway depot is based near Cleckheaton.
The move into West Yorkshire comes as the region heads towards a franchised bus network.
Arriva announced it would stop running the 571 in November last year. It was cancelled as part of a raft of changes announced for its Yorkshire services, introduced following a ‘comprehensive review of the usage of every journey on the network’.
