GENERAL /OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are a successful family run business based in the North East of Scotland, with a fleet of 100 vehicles of various sizes. Luxury Coaches to mini buses, with approximately 70 staff across two sites. We provide various types of passenger transport i.e., private hires of every description, Local Services and School Contracts. We have a high spec purpose-built maintenance Depot resulting in a very high standard of vehicle maintenance with a 100% first time pass rate and a green OCRS score. The successful applicant will join a well-established team at our Buckie Depot.

We are looking to recruit an experienced General / Operations Manager for our transport operation, where you will join us as a key member of our management team.

To attract the right person to join our team, relocation support is negotiable.

Key skills & Personal Attributes:

The successful candidate should be self-motivated, pro-active, and well organised. You should be able to demonstrate the following: –

• Experience of passenger transport services, from a strategic and/or operational delivery aspect • Great leadership and people management and motivation skills

• Knowledge and understanding of Transport Law including EU Driver hours regulations, driver working time hours, digital tachographs.

• Staff management skills.

• Excellent Communication skills/interpersonal skills

• Mechanical knowledge

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Attention to detail.

• Valid Driving licence is essential, PSV desirable (expected to be obtained)

You will manage a team of approximately 30 staff alongside our experienced admin team. You will also be required to focus on increasing sales and business development.

You will have excellent problem-solving skills and be experienced in both overseeing day to day operations, achieving compliance and efficient running of operations.

Full-time, Permanent

Salary:  Negotiable for successful candidate

Licence/Certification:

• PCV Licence desirable or willing to undertake.

• Transport Manager CPC qualification (passenger transport) (preferred)
